Gloomy but pretty Brazilian Syrphid for id. please

Just a guess but it looks more like a syrphid to me (note the wing venation)

Amazing, never would have thought it was a Syphid from the looks, (forgot about the wing venation!) Thank you Chris! Great Gerard to have found Genus and specie! Thanks a lot!
