Hi,

Is this correct? Big, probably around 12mm.

7th October, on Ivy, my garden near Lincoln UK.

I don't know too much about Sciomyzidae. I guess, however, that this is indeed a Tetanocera, but not hyalipennis. I think T. hyalipennis is much smaller than 12 mm

Yes it could be smaller but I don't know. I thought it looked like Tetanocera ferruginea, but I really don't know what to look for! Wink

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
