Hello Forum,
I cannot key this tiny Doli out. It has a very shiny blue frons and a distinctly projecting clypeus. Any suggestions for the genus?
Anout 3.5mm length. July 8 2010, Shropshire UK. Swept from marsh.

Many thanks Paul and Igor. I'll check out Syntormon, as under the microscope it does not look right for Campsicnemus.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
