I found this fly in Remerschen (Luxembourg, at the border triangle to France and Germay (MTB 6504)) an just wandet to ask for a certification of my determination to Sphaerophoria scripta, female. The fly was found on a rather high grassfield and sat down on a dip net. It was about 10mm long. I would be really grateful for any anser. Hi, Svenja! If you don't find them mating with a male (which in case of S. scripta can be identified), there is no way to determine Sphaerophoria females from a photo.
