Hi,
Here is another fly seen on Rugia Island close to the shore recently. It is a Bibio, and though the photo is a bit dark it recalls B. femoralis of thread http://www.dipter...d_id=20163. There is a somewhat pear-shaped first tarsomere of the hind leg, and black tips of hind tibia as well as of first and second tarsomeres of the hind legs. So do you agree with this ID?
Thanks, Sundew

Thanks to both of you for the unexpected reaction to this old thread! It is always nice to get a confirmation, no matter when. The difficulty is to find it Grin
Best wishes, Sundew

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
