Muscid Eudasyphora?

Hi, This was taken yesterday, 7th March near Lincoln UK. We have two Eudasyphora species, E. cyanella and E. cyanicolor. Is it possible to say which this is, assuming I am correct that it is Eudasyphora? 3 pics. Janet blowave attached the following image: [134.22Kb] http://cubits.org... |

Could well be Eudasyphora cyanella, but we can't hardly rule out Dasyphora from these pics.

I don't believe Dasyphora occurs in Britain and this certainly looks like Eudasyphora. Greenish rather than blueish, pale anterior spiracle, eyes look like they might be hairy, long anterodorsal on mid tibia all point to cyanella. Tim |
