I tried an identification after the key of Van Veen: -It is a female (theca at the underside of the abdomen ->2 -2b: Theca projecting. Perpendicular on the sternites, hind rim not bend ->5 -5a Theca in hind view (not as long as wide, rounded) it is elongated ->6 -6a: Femur 3 yellowish on its basal twothirds,... -> Thecophora fulvipes Robineau-Desvoidy (6b: Femur 3 yellowish on its basal half,... -> Thecophora atra Fabricius) Is it Thecophora fulvipes (colour of Femur3)? Who can help me? Thank you. Fotos: Switzerland, Wattwil SG, 750m NN, 27.07.08 Regards Urs Urs attached the following image: [71.98Kb] |

It belongs to the atra-group and cannot be identified with the picture but easily if you have the specimen at hand. It is not fulvipes but atra or cinerascens I guess. Jens-Hermann |

bad luck, T. cinerascens i can not find in the key of "Van Veen". Can you tell me please, which species belongs to the atra-group? Thank you Jens-Hermann. Regards Urs sorry, not necessary, i found "Thecophora pusilla auct. - ein Artenkomplex" in the web. Edited by Urs on 25-02-2010 20:53 |
