Hi Nikita, Yes, this is Geomyza apicalis. Nice catch! It is rather scarce in collection. However, to my opinion it is not a rare species at all. My experience is that it is just scarcely seen in the field because it normally stays very low between the vegetation. I have seen several pitfall trap samples from The Netherlands and Germany in which this species was present! I expect this species to be more widely distributed than currently known. Jan Willem |
