Hello to all!
I presume that these flies are at least members of the same genus. Size about 10-12mm. I found them all within a few minutes when ascending to the edge of the Pululahua-crater near Quito, Ecuador. Altitude about 2800m asl. Date 7.8.09

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
