I am not sure if it is Syrphidae. It seemed to be predating laying eggs on a plant with a lot of aphids. Aprox. 13 mm. Malagasy highlands near Antananarivo. Only managed this shot. End June.

Yep, it's a syrphid, something like Baccha, Allobaccha or related. I'll look at it when I'm at home. greetings Greetings, Gerard Pennards |
