At first it reminded me of Syritta pipiens but it is bigger (15-20mm) and hairier.

Thank you Roger, I am tempted to go for Xylota segnis, but I think I'll do whats right and file it as Xylota sp. since I have no clue how to seperate the 30 or so nearctic species ..

Male Xylota segnis, the only species with powerful spines on the underside of the femora 3!
