Haven't seen this one before- thought it was an Ichneumon when I first saw it Smile
About 12mm long taken today South coast UK.

Only one choice in Britain - B elongata. I had one in my garden yesterday. They are quite common, but you don't notice them because they like to fly in shady leafy places and they are so thin and dark they are effectively invisible.

Probably only noticed it because I'm trying to keep a lookout for Ichneumons and they tend to inhabit the same places Smile

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
