Tiny fly on Catnip

Dear all,

I wonder if anyone could shove me in the right direction here... I was able to photograph his tiny fly (4mm I think) a few days ago in my garden while I was after aphids and ants (a sunny garden in Eckental, Northern Bavaria, Germany). That's why the angle is pretty bad for identification I'm afraid. But, well, if anyone has an idea where to place this fly, even very broadly, I'd be thrilled.
