Hi,

This Bombyliidae was resting in the sunlight, in Corsica (France), on 20th september 2004. Wingspan is 13 mm.

Can anyone confirm it is some Thyridanthrax sp? And what about the species ?

Thanks !

My first impression is that of Exoprosopa capucina.
This impression is based on the brownish colouration in the wings.

But I'm no expert.

Thanks for your answer, Theo.

Exoprosopa seems to be better match indeed, and it's such a pity that reference pictures aren't available on the web to compare.

I'd be glad to hear about further advices...? Wink
