Found this little female Platycheirus on Iceland Poppy in the garden this morning...never seen one as black as this before...Anyone know what it is???

Though the light is strange... abdomen seems very dark.. I'd make a female P. albimanus of this one... And then I realise... it looks like an intersexe. Look at the tibia/tarsae... they look like they are from a male. And also the tip of the abdomen looks a bit like it is deformed. Edited by Andre on 05-07-2009 23:01 |
