Thanks Neprisikiski. It's different to the last Ernestia that I put here: much bigger and much more clear in colour. I hope that it becomes to anothes species. We wait for Theo

.. and Chris is feeling very under-qualified for all these Euro-tachinid questions! Wink

Only four species recorded from Spain!
Ernestia argentifera, E. puparum, E. rudis, E. vagans

It can't be choosed between these species?

I have little doubt it is rudis, but technically I cannot be sure from these pics (they are not quite in focus)

Thanks Theo, then I will put Ernestia aff. rudis.
Impossible absolutely for my camera to be more sharp and focused. Except the head in second picture. But the other photos I thinks that are focused...

You are right.

The focus is OK, you are lacking focal depth.
Which may be difficult to solve with some types of cameras.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
