Looks like a Syrphus torvus to me. I see hairy eyes?

Thanks Andre. It seems to be hairy when I enlarge the original photo.

We see photos of S. torvus, S. vitripennis and maybe S. ribesii. Why don't we see species like S. rectus, S. admirandus, S. attenuatus or S. sexmaculatus!? Are they very rare?

Rectus is rare in Europe. Others are rare in most parts of Europe, but not so rare in mountainous areas or in..... Scandinavia (like attenuatus and sexmaculatus)! So... you've got some work to do. Don't forget to collect them too Wink

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
