The fly appears to be a species of Lucilia, a member of the family Calliphoridae. I will as a colleague to give an indication about the spider's identity.

This fly is much much smaller than Lucilia caesar. Actually even the spider is smaller than most Lucilia species in Japan. However, there might be some very small Calliphoridae in Japan. By the way I have already identified the spider. Actually my primary interest is spiders. The above photo is a male Evarcha chikunii , family Salticidae (jumping spiders). |

A spider specialist is also welcome on the forum. It may sometimes give us another angle to look at things! As to the fly, the shape of the head and body are really calyptrate-like. I am of course not entirely familiar with the Japanese fauna but still Lucilia seems an option. Variation in size within the family may be considerable, as a result of varying availability of food to larvae.
