Hello This fly swarmed a few days ago in the sodic steppe ("puszta" ) of the SE-hungarian territory (plants for example Artemisia santonicum, Salicornia europaea ). Is it identifiable? Looks to me as Tipula oleracea or Tipula paludosa. Difference in determination are # of antenna segments. 13= T.oleracea, 14= T.paludosa Best regards, Andre |

I am not sure whether T. oleracea and paludosa have such late swarming periods. Can this not be T. (T.) subcunctans?
