Hello!

Two 3-4 mm flies from August-01, (northwest Germany). The first one came to the light at night, the second one (Lonchaeidae?) I found on a meadow. I'm not sure, whether they belong to the same family.

Arrghh... Wink I had labeled the first one Fannia sp. before, but was not sure any more, when I looked at the second - rather similar - one... Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
Jürgen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
