ID assistance - Chironomidae ?

Hi,

Can any one assist with an Id for these ? I think they may be Chironomidae but am not sure. The pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago in my garden in Surrey UK.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
