Hi,
Here comes a little grey and black Tachinid with crossed apical scutellars! The light was not good, so the pics are not as clear as intended, and I cannnot see whether the eyes might be hairy or not.
I know these small ones are difficult, but let's have a try.
Regards, Sundew

I have to say, if I saw it in the field I would say this is one of the smaller genera of sarcophagids - going by the shiny black genital capsule, thin body, vein-m shape and dusting pattern. It seems to be missing medial marginal bristles on T1+2 too, which would be quite unusual. Any better shots of the scutellum? Smile

sarcophagid. but I must say that I thought firstly in Tachinidae! Btter photos to the scutellum would help. Specially lateral and close vies.

Why do these nasty tiny Sarcophagids mask themselves as Tachinids???Angry
This time the bristles looked so convincing! Sorry, no better pics of the scutellum, it was already too dark. The black bottom is untypical for Tachinids indeed...
So I have to continue my search for a real Tachinid this size and colour. I won't give up! Thanks for your patience in identifying wrong Tachinids,
Sundew
