Hi, Today evening I saw an interesting fly on a wild carrot inflorescence. I'd say it has a vena spuria in its wings, so it should be a syrphid. I am eager to learn its name! Many thanks, Sundew PS. Well, one should also look at the side bars now and then. Among the latest photo additions there is one that matches perfectly, so I have found a Chrysogaster solstitialis.
