Hello,
last week I found this Syrphidae in the Rh?n-"highlands" - Germany.
Could it be Melangyna labiatarum?

Possible, but not easy to confirm by pictures (anyway, for me)...

Incredible shot! I never saw an assimetric-coloured fly.

must M. umbellatarum not be white colored?

So, safer might be Melangyna spec....Grin

It was also my first asymetric colored fly Shock
