Hello! Can this female from yesterday (northwest Germany) be Eristalis lineata? It was larger than E. arbustorum or interrupta (also flying yesterday), more in the E. tenax "league" (not quite as big as tenax itself). Hello, Alvesgaspar! Alvesgaspar wrote: Looks like E. arbustorum to me Thanks! Then it was the biggest arbustorum I've ever seen. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Nope, not arbustorum but indeed a female Eristalis lineata! It has a vague blackish spot in the wing and the yellow marks on the abdomen are not shiny. In the wild it generally has a more 'orange' appearance! Greetings Greetings, Gerard Pennards |

Hello, Gerard! Gerard Pennards wrote: In the wild it generally has a more 'orange' appearance! Thanks! I don't see that species very often here, and this animal really looked different from most other Eristalis I find.
