Dear friends,
Who knows such a black insect, about 5 mm long, that sits on leaves without showing much of its legs and may fly (or hop?) off very quickly - perhaps a sort of cidada? The bristly legs point to that group of insects. Help is greatly appreciated!
Many thanks, Sundew

Great, Paul - googling Cicadellidae led me to Penthimia nigra (monk cicada) that seems to be my animal! Its colouration is said to be variable, there may be also red spots on the thorax. This distinctive insect obviously cannot be confused with any other cicadas, so I am glad I easily learned a new species.
Cordially, Sundew

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
