Dear forum,

these pictures took Horst K?cher in Germany (North Rhine-Westphalia/Hennef) at a march area on 26.04.2008.
This syrphidae is determinated by Dr. Gisela Merkel-Wallner (http://insektenfo...ghtuser=28) by probably Brachypalpus laphriformis. Can it be definitely identified?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
