Thanks Stephane. I've looked at Pollenia images in the gallery - there are a couple of P. rudis males there which have similar abdominal patterns. However I thought P. rudis had golden hairs on the thorax which these don't seem to have.... Could it be rudis? |

Hair can disappear on old flies. It could be P. rudis, but I doubt it is possible to tell without the specimen in hand.
