Very similar to pertinax, but with a brownish and slightly longer stigma (about 4 times as long as broad). Differs clearly from pertinax by the dark fore and mid tarsae (pertinax has them yellow)! Very important.

Pertinax is not very common in Portugal, especially in the south, but similis is. This makes it even more difficult to find pertinax.
