Three views against a 2mm background grid of a terminally ill Phaonia. Dorsal view attached, lateral and ventral views to follow. It was found in a very lethargic state on 07 Jan 2008 in East Lincs, UK., and in a last defiant gesture, produced four eggs before she died during the photo shoot. I am presuming Phaonia from the wing venation and tibia bristles. Would that be right? But, then there is the query over species. Suggestions please. |

.... and that did not work either! :-) It was a 28K .jpg but I got an invalid filename or file size error message. Time for bed methinks. :-) |

As far as I can see, it is Phaonia subventa (fore tibiae with 1 post setae, pre acr, mid tibiae with 2 post s.) Greetings. Stephane. |
