Hello,

teneral Syrphidae

Is further ID possible? Unfortunately it was blown away before I could take a dorsal photo.

In a citizen science project I am analysing the biodiversity in a specific area of one m² for one year. Therefore an ID of the individual would be great.

Beside the ID: Are the white lines in the body trachea?

Found at the edge of mixed beech forrest. 22nd April 2023
Konstanz Germany Lake Constance area Position 47.692528 N, 9.177509E
480 m above sea level.

Thank you
Thomas

I think it is Melanostoma scalare - the triangular spots of Melanostoma are visible - then we have a front view of the face that seems to be completely dusted except the facial tubercle (additionally I think the antennae seem to be relatively more light than what I am used to see in M. mellinum, but do not think that this is a strong trait).

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
