Hi,
These Eristalis syrphids remain difficult to me. Is this big female an E. pertinax? The yellow feet match, but I expected the black facial central stripe to be broader...
Photographed at the Baltic Island of Usedom in August.
Thanks, Sundew

Strange flash-/photoshop-effects... exceptionally thin facial stripe, but matches pertinax because of the yellow tibia. Are they really this light, not shopped? Because the stigma resembles similis (= pratorum).

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
