Hello
Found dead on a sidewalk in NE of France (Distroff, 57925) the 15/06/2022. I think it is a female of the genus Tabanus, then between autumnalis, bromius and sudeticus difficult to decide, especially since he suffered a little (with a preference for T. autumnalis).
Body lenght : 22 mm, wing : 20 mm.

Hello Louis, I'm not sure as it's not the freshest one, but I think it's T. sudeticus. The size, the small triangles on the abdomen, sternites with pale rear margines...
Greetings, Eric Kloeckner

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
