Fly 2
Is this large, +1cm, fly possibly Tachina fera?
Very actively feeding on solidago in a sunny area of dense undergrowth next to a wooded small stream.
I am posting 2 separate enquiries because I think they were 2 different specimens.
31st August 2021.
Flensburg, N.Germany:- 54.754318, 9.421215

Many Thanks in advance.
Ray

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
