Lyneborg split the genus into several parts, but I didn't manage to grasp this, that's why sl. (it probably is Pandeveillia, which used to be Psilocephala) Theo |

Hello Urs, After all this time! But there is a resolution. Lyneborg 1986 did indeed split Psilocephala into several genera. The big ones with the abdomen like this one belong in the genus Pandivirilia Irwin & Lyneborg 1981. Lower part of frons with white pollinosity. Tergite 5 is white pollinose and 6 is entirely black. Also the tibia are reddish. That makes this Pandivirillia caesia. Although more common in the higher parts of Europe Pandivirilia are very rare, nice find and nice photo's! Greetings, Ectemnius |
