Hello again!

My first impression about this fly was that it belonged to Stratiomyidae, even to Stratiomys, but after checking the aspect of the Iberian species of this genus, it doesn't seem to fit any of them.

Any hints to solve this puzzle? Family or even genus?

It was shot in Carcar, Navarra, N Spain on the 23rd of May 2015 in a very wet lushy meadow of rushes within a very arid Mediterranean area.

Thank you once again in advance

Hi Filex, Stratiomyidae is correct and I think it's a Odontomyia sp.

Greetings, Eric

Thank you very much for your help! Definetively I think you are right. Following your tip I have checked the Iberian species of the genus. After discarding the rest of species because of their different pattern of coloration, I think this must be Odontomyia annulata.
