Hello, every year around the second half of april I see Macquartia flies on broad leaves of the Aesculus tree in my garden in the west of the Netherlands. This one on 28 april. Is further ID possible? Ramon Ramonv attached the following image: [94.99Kb] Edited by Ramonv on 16-05-2021 09:49 |

Looks like M. grisea. I also find these on Aesculus. Must be some Chrysomelidae on those leaves ? Theo |

I have seen them since 2015 and cannot remember any interaction with another species... they just sit on the higher leaves as sort of lookout (1,5-2 m), take a short flight and return. After 2 or 3 days, i don't see them anymore until the next year. But i'll check for Chrysomelidae in the future :-) best regards Ramon |
