Hello,

I photographed this fly in Bazzano (AQ), Italy on March 19th 2021. I think it is a Chironomidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Appears to be a female Orthocladiinae. I don't think I can say more.

Thank you anyway, Tony. The only thing I can add is that it was much bigger than the usual Orthocladiinae found in the area: it reached 7-8mm in length.
