Could this one be C.uralensis found in my garden in July?

Nice find and nice pics Roger, I have yet to find this one even though it should be common along the beaches here.

Can do Mark, I have the female as well so may as well stick in the pair..and thanks Hakon, only the second one I've photographed in a couple of years and I'm only 50 odd metres from the beach. Bound to be lots more about though, but I just photograph Bluebottles to check the camera's first couple of shots to ensure it is set properly for the light etc., or if there is nothing else around. Just stumbled upon this one, maybe I should shoot more of them.
Regards Roger

Yes, I too have pretty much ignored the bluebottles here, but I did some trapping with scallop in my garden and caught some C. subalpina.

Edit: I just realized that Stephane's profile pic is a Syrphid with hat and scarf, although I have never studied it, I have seen a penguin with a backpack and gun until now Grin

Nothing, nothing at all, maybe that is the problem... it has been almost 3 years since I really had something nice to drink (in mentionable quantities).
