Thanks Andrzej Smile Unfortunately I don't have picture of the palpus.

I suppose Heleomyzini because 1+3 dorsocentrals, but how do you see it's Scoliocentra on those pictures ?
I can't see if meron, mesopleuron and notopleuron are hairy. Anterior orbital bristle weaker than the second ?

there is the combination of characters: the two or three sternopleurals + shortened hind metatarsus + 2 vibrissae + bare mesopleuron which suggest me the species group or subgenus (Leriola). There are two species with such chaetotaxy: S (L.) collini Woznica 2004 with totally orange or reddish oalpus and S. (L.) brachypterna (Loew) with bicoloured palpus (blackish-yellow) Wink

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
