All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated.

My Diptera observations (and other living forms) can be found here, and corrections or comments over there would also be appreciated.

Maybe someone else can confirm, as it seems this would be the first record for the state of Upper Austria.

Also, Ira, whenever you got some ID (suggestions), you might want to change the title accordingly, so that experts or others interested in that topic can find it easier

Hallo Lorin!

I posted two flies in the insektefotos.de forum in 2020 and 2022, both were determined to be Pollenia vagabunda, the second with cf. I will post both questions here - 'Pollenia vagabunda?-1' and 'Pollenia vagabunda?-2' - maybe you can look at it.

Thanks Ira

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
