Hello,

This Stratiomyidae (~15,5mm) is today exclose. I found the larva (~35mm) at 10. May 2010 into a small pond.
My guess is Odontomyia ornata?

Regards,

Frank

Dear Frank
Could you deliver an extra photo of the pupal skin in which the color pattern of the dorsal part is shown? The size of the skin is diagnostic enough, but I need the colorpattern for study purposes, without getting into detail. If you're are more interested please send a personal mail.
thanks in advance

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
