Hi, I photographed this Tachinid (at least I suppose it is) in Scharnstein, southern Upper Austria (about 500m above sea level).

I've observede the same species recently at Feistritzsattel, border between Lower Austria and Styria at 1300m asl

Yes, it is a boreo-alpine species, 500 asl is a bit low.
In Estonia, is occurs at sea level.

Thanks once again to everybody for input an correction. As for the 500 asl - it is located on the foot of higher mountains (up to 1500 asl), which might explain its appearance in lower regions...
