Hello,

besides some Episyrphus balteatus and Eristalis tenax I found this slender Syrphid in our garden today (northwest Germany). Unfortunately this is the only photo, I could take. Maybe a male Melangyna (quadrimaculata?)?

Yes, possibly Melangyna quadrimaculata (but hard to tell for sure).

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
