Hello Johanna, I am sorry for not posting a photo of the hind femur. Yes the hind femur has a tuft of hairs but I do not see an ad present on the mid-tibia. I probably shouldn't have suggested D. radicum. I have no idea what it is. I am hoping that you can help me with an id. I can photograph all of the legs under the microscope tomorrow if you need to see more of the legs. I can add more photos of genitalia too. By the way, I see that the surstyli overlap which is odd to me. I guess that this eliminates D. radicum based upon drawings that I have for this species. I am stumped... Thank You very much for your Time and Expertise. I appreciate you very much. johnes81 attached the following image: [85.96Kb] Edited by johnes81 on 28-09-2017 20:57 John and Nini. here is a macro photo of the legs cropped. I notice an odd coloration of the hairs on the legs in strong lighting. The hairs seem to have a grayish shimmer. interesting.

The genitalia in Delia species can be very similar, so outer characters can be useful. With those tuft of hairs, it confirms it is....Delia radicum Johanna Edited by javanerkelens on 28-09-2017 21:48 |

Excellent! Thank You very much Johanna. I appreciate your Time and Expertise. I know what you mean about the genitalia being similar. I think that D. floralis is very similar to radicum in drawings. I am trying to learn about Delia but they can be difficult. I apologize for forgetting to show the tuft of hairs. I hope that you have a Pleasant Evening/Night. John and Nini.
