From Lasiocampa quercus larvae collected last summer in southern Sweden, and stored outdoors, these flies came out this April. To me it is Ceromya bicolor.
I have received 3 flies sent to me, and none of them have subapical scutellar bristles convergent!
But what else can it be?
5 mm
The anal vein does not reach the wing margin.
Lower st shorter than the antenior.
The r4+5 vein with bristles continue more than half the way further from r-m to the wing edge.
Sorry for bad Pictures.

Yes, I agree. The subapicals might have been distorted while pinning.
it seems to be a female, if so: the large last tarsomere of front leg is distinctive for female bicolor.

Fifth segment much longer (nearly twice) as fourth. Looks good to me.

By the way, your host is classic for this species.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
