Hello,

I photographed this fly on Monte Bazzano (AQ), Italy, 700m a.s.l. on March 16th 2024. I think it is a Tachinidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?
I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures, it was a very windy day.

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Given the quality of the pictures I wasn't hoping for a species identification, so this is great! Thank you very much!

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
