Hi ! Small midge, 1,5 mm, on windows inside the kitchen 26.11.2015. Eyes seem hairy, plumose arista, punctuated mesonotum and nice yellow socks. No idea !

I think it's not Milichiidae, but Ephydridae. Check e.g. Athyroglossa glabra.

Athyroglossa is an option, though the fly does not show the typical posture (very long forelegs pointing forward, see http://diptera.in...pid=124119), and the particular outline of the head in side view is not visible. Here http://www.dipter...d_id=54751 I summarize the characters of A. glabra. The arista is not well seen, but the scutellum seems to be flat, so the species should be OK. |

Sternites of my specimen don't look clear. It looks quite that one. Some orbital setae bending foreward. Thanks for helping. Eugene |
