It is a strange animal! I think it should be Hybomitra solstitialis, known from England, France, Denmark... This taxon is maybe conspecific with common H. bimaculata. Remind this topic during the second half of July, Theo Zeegers will tell you more after his return from Armenia. Libor |

I'm back. Pity the frontal pic is not so clear (next time make the same pic again with a flash !), but I'd see it is some Tabanus. The eyes are bare, are they not ? Without good frontal picture, I'm afraid that is it (could be a very orange T. exclusus...) Theo |
