female - 6.5mm - Berlin - May 2018

My Wife and I believe that this is Pegomya testacea (syn. Pegomya silacea) but we want to know if Pegomya prisca is a possibility. If P. prisca is possible, we can provide photos of the ovipositor.

We would like to know if microscopic examination is sufficient for an id here because we can save two legs and have a dna test conducted instead.

I understand that Michelsen has a paper regarding P. prisca. Is it possible to get a copy of this document?

Interesting post:

Thank you for your time.

Google search has helped me locate a photo of both ovipositors:

Thus, i now know that dissection can help identify the species.

Thank you.
